David Darmstadter Lydon is a social studies teacher at Mercy Burlingame High School, focusing on 9th and 10th grade United States history. He is also co-program manager for the Mock Trial program and the faculty sponsor for the Philosopher’s Club. Before Mercy, he taught at Bay Area Technology School, Thurgood Marshall Academic High School, and Hillsdale High School.

A former lawyer, David also worked from 2011 to 2012 as an associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where he specialized in patent litigation matters, and from 2009 to 2010 at Lex Machina, a legal analytics firm, where he oversaw their pro bono and educational outreach and support.

David has an M.A. in Education from the Stanford Teacher Education Program (2016), a J.D. from Stanford Law School (2009), and a B.A. in Philosophy from Pomona College (2005).
